London Marathon

I try and go to watch the London Marathon every year if possible - the runners are remarkable and the crowds more than play their part in the proceedings. I usually head towards Tower Bridge as that is the official sponsors' 'cheering' point (it took me a long time to work out that the runners have their names in their vests... I stood next to a group of girls who cheered on every runner personally. I just assumed they knew a remarkable amount of people running the race!). It's usually too packed to really see much from the bridge, but the atmosphere is electric. After that I have a hectic fight to get over to the Tower of London to catch some of the elite athletes and better vantage points before heading back to London Bridge station and home. One year I might run the Marathon, but then again, I have enough trouble running my usual 5k every other day...
